Dear Friends,
I hope you enjoyed the beautiful 4th of July weekend. It sure was a
pleasant change from all the rain. Our client needs continue to
escalate due to both the increasing immorality our culture is experiencing
as well as the economy. Just this morning a young lady called in need
of food for herself and her young child. We were able to refer her to
a couple places. We should all praise God that we have food on the
table every day and a place to sleep. Some in our community are not so
blessed.
Please pray for...
- Cathy met last week with a young man whose girlfriend had just
dropped off their 4 mo. old child stating she no longer could cope with him.
She is a drug addict, and he appears to be a hardworking man just trying to
make ends meet. We provided him with a bassinet, swing, clothing and
misc. baby items to help get him started. Please pray he will return
for further counsel. He seems responsible, desiring to care for his
son, but overwhelmed.
- Jane met with a lady in her thirties who needed help with some baby
items. She had "asked God to forgive her sins" in the past, but Jane
challenged her to turn away from her sinful lifestyle. They went to 1
Cor. 6:9, John 14:6 and others to help her better understand what it means
to be a believer. States she is too busy to go to church. Please
pray she can get a schedule change at work that would enable her to attend
church.
- A young lady in her twenties believes herself to be a "good person"
and headed for heaven. She needed formula for her baby and is seeking
a job in various places. She is living with her boyfriend who has two
other children by other women. Was taken to John 3:16; 3:36; 6:37;
14:6; Romans 3:23; 10:13; and Eph. 2:8,9. Listened to The Good Test
and promised to read spiritual info sent home with her. Needs
conviction of sin and salvation.
- Young client that had a complicated C-section a couple days earlier
stayed home while her mother came in for assistance with formula.
Client to come in later for counsel and layette. Unbelievers.
Several materials sent home for the new mother to read. Pray she
returns and can hear the gospel.
- Teen due in the fall seen by Cathy for counsel Seemed
unconcerned about sinfulness, yet believes herself to be a Christian, hoping
to get into heaven. Has attended believing church, but not sure of
salvation. She was given some church referrals and maternity wear.
Please pray she will attend church and hear the real Gospel.
- One of the victims of a recent Pottstown fire came in for
assistance for her baby. She states she believes in Jesus and Jane
explained additional scriptural truths to her. She was relying upon
good works to get her into heaven. Church referrals were made.
She does have a place to live at this time but no doubt must replace many
personal items.
- Another client in her twenties met with Anne and had requested
items for her baby including formula. She did not know for sure she'd
go to heaven. Anne shared 1Jn. 5:13 to confirm she could know for a
fact she would go to heaven! She is relying upon her good works to get
there. Anne shared the Gospel and Rom 6:23; Eph. 2:8,9; Rom 3:23, and
5:8. Spiritual information was sent home with her. She was
encouraged to read this info and ask Christ into her life.
- Julia met with a young woman who had a positive pregnancy test and
plans to carry and parent. Was unsaved and only attended church a
couple of times. She had never heard the gospel before - ever!
Julia encouraged her to think about sin and repentance and to turn to the
Lord. Please pray for her and her unborn child.
- A client in her late twenties met with Julia. She just had
her fifth child and is single. Client stated she was "born again," but
does not attend church and continues to live in a sinful lifestyle.
When this was discussed, she insisted on continuing her lifestyle and was
upset at the conversation.
An abortion minded client that called last week has not communicated with us
again. Please pray she will call or stop by.
Your prayers are appreciated. Thanks so much.
