Valley Forge Baptist Church Missions

Genesis Crisis Pregnancy Center

Dear Friends,

This week has been slower than some weeks, but many clients continue to be in need of prayer.

  1. Jane met with a believer whose husband is laid off work and was in need of diapers for their newborn.  They prayed together for blessings on her family, their finances, and spiritual needs.

  2. A married 17 year old was seen by Dell.  She is due next year and has several health issues.  Gospel was presented to her and her husband.

  3. Jane met with a young Muslim client that was totally uninterested in the Gospel and has refused in the past to have any spiritual discussion.  She came in for material assistance.  Pray her heart will be softened. A friend of hers, also Muslim, frequently stops in.  Please pray for us as we minister to these ladies that their hearts will be open to the Gospel.

  4. Dell met with a young man whose girlfriend is working and unable to come in.  They needed help with diapers and other baby supplies.  Dell challenged him to marry this woman and took him to scriptures challenging their lifestyle.

  5. Julia met with a young lady for a pregnancy test which was positivve. She plans to be married this weekend.  Occasionally attends a Bible believing church, but does not understand salvation.  History of an abortion which she indicates she needs counsel for and will return.  Please pray as Julia ministers to this client and helps her to see the Lord's forgiveness.

  6. Another single woman with children came in for supplies.  Her boyfriend just got out of jail but it returning on additional charges.  She is struggling financially.  Julia shared the Gospel with her and stated, "I can't think about that now."

  7. A young lady who just gave birth came to the center for formula and a layette.  Julia met with her and shared the Gospel. Client and her boyfriend live with her mother and see nothing wrong with their lifestyle.  Please pray for conviction in their hearts.

Because it was a relatively slow week for clients, volunteer Client Advisors made several follow-up phone calls or wrote cards to previous clients. Please pray for some that are having financial difficulties, moral issues, and health issues.  We have noted the last few years that many babies are born premature and with low birth weights.  This no doubt relates to the lifestyles some of our clients are leading.  Please pray for those that are pregnant that the mothers will eat nurtitiously and in some cases, stop drug and alcohol use.

A mother comes to our thrift shop frequently that smells of alcohol.  She has twin toddlers that are obviously developmentally slow.  Please pray for them as well.

One of our clients who had a high risk pregnancy stopped by with her tiny premie, still on a monitor, just to say hi and to return some items she no longer needed.  We continue to lift her up in prayer as we'd love to see her saved.  She is a sweet young gal that needs the Lord in her life.  Please join us in praying the Holy Spirit will help her see Truth.

Thank you for your prayers for my son who had a heart attack at 40.  He has failed a stress test after having stents placed in three vessels.  Additional stents or surgery will probably be requried, but the Dr. wants him to rest and not exert himself for the next couple weeks.  He is starting some cardio rehab to see how it goes.  Also, Dell Lapps, a faithful volunteer for many years, is undergoing more surgery this Wed. to remove any additional cancer cells.  Radiation may be necessary.  Please pray for the Dr. and nurses that will be caring for her.
