Dear Friends,
Some very challenging clients came to the center this week. As we
observe more and more apostasy in our churches, we are facing more
challenging clients spiritually. As unemployment rises, more clients
come to us for material assistance. Much immorality has permeated our
society, so we are facing issues today we rarely, if ever, experienced
several years ago. Please continue to pray for the staff, board, and
clients.
Also, mark your calendar for Thurs., Oct. 15 as we celebrate 25 years of
ministry to the tri-county community. Many hearts have been changed
over the years as seeds were sown, some came to know the Lord as their
personal Savior, and babies lives were saved. Hundreds of men and
women have labored on behalf of the Lord to make certain the Gospel was
presented to clients.
Some prayer needs follow:
-
Dell met with a 35 year old that needed supplies. She was a
believer and attends a local Bible believing church. She commented she
was seeking God's will for her life. She is being fed at this church
and Dell just encouraged her.
-
Another 25 year old came in for supplies who stated she was a
believer. She has 3 children and a boyfriend who is HIV+. She
was very open to the Gospel and spiritual discussion. Please pray for
her walk with the Lord, that she is abstinent, and that she does not become
infected. Dell encouraged her as well.
-
Jane met with a 17 year old for baby supplies. Recently
someone came to her door with a tract and this has made her think about
spiritual things. Jane challenged her with the Gospel and sent her
home with a Bible and tracts. Pray for conviction!
-
A 19 year old unbeliever met with Jane. States she attends
church. She acknowledged her sinful lifestyle but indicated she did
not want to change. Jane took her to MT 8:30-37, 1 Jn 5:13 and Jn.
5:24. She listened intently. Pray for her salvation.
-
A 39 year old came in for a pregnancy test with Anne. It was
positive. She is single, but the boyfriend is ok with the pregnancy.
Her divorce is not final and she is depending on good works to get into
heaven. Pray for salvation and conviction of sin.
-
A saved 16 year old with a small infant came into the center that
was extremely open to spiritual discussion. Anne was able to talk to
her about making Jesus Lord of her life and to stay on the straight and
narrow path.
-
Jane met with a 23 year old that is a good person, headed for
heaven. She had been laid off her job. Children with her were
totally out of control, to the point a discussion was extremely difficult if
not impossible. Jane started The Good Test dvd, left the room to get
her baby supplies, and returned to find her cell phone charging in our
outlet and she was making a phone call on our phone to someone indicating
she'd be in Philly in a short time! Obviously, the dvd was not
watched. Please pray for conviction for this young woman as she reads
the materials given to her. Also that she would be convicted to
discipline her children!
-
A 26 year old came to the center for supplies who is due for a baby
soon. Julia had her watch The Good Test and took her to Rom. 3:26, 1
Peter 1:7, and Jn. 3:16. She does not have custody of
three other children. Current boyfriend is in prison, and both her
parents are dead. With a previous pregnancy, she was told she was
"losing fluid" and that the Dr. needed to inject fluid into the baby's heart
to stop it. Thus, she was aborted in her 5th month but was not given a
full explanation. We believe this client was searching for truth
because she is hurting so deeply from life experiences. She seemed
open to spiritual discussion, even eager to learn. She was sent home
with scriptures and some spiritual booklets. Please pray she reads
them and the Holy Spirit convicts her of the truthfulness of the Scriptures.
-
A 23 year old client came on her lunch break for supplies and
obviously did not want to stay to talk. Julia gave her formula, but
she was unresponsive to any discussion..
-
A 29 year old returned to our center for supplies. She had
read materials sent home with her previously and commented it was "just
review." She states she is a believer. Client is currently in
job training. Stated to Julia she is believer, but seemed confused on
some issues. Please pray she will read the additional material sent
home and next time be able to spend more time in spiritual discussion.
While you're in prayer, please add my son, Kevin, to your list. He is
undergoing a second cardiac catherization this Thurs. for stent placement in
a fourth vessel. He continues to have chest pain with minimal
exertion. We are very concerned about him.
Good news from Dell Lapps, one of our client advisors of ,many years.
Her second surgery for cancer in the muscle of her arm went well, she is
experiencing very little pain, and the prognosis is very good! Praise
God for His goodness!
Thank you for your many prayers on our behalf. We are in a real
spiritual battle here and fully understand the value of your partnering with
us in prayer.
