Dear Friends,
Some new prayer requests follow:
-
Jen met with a young married woman in her twenties in need of
baby supplies. She attends a bible believing church. Their
family is struggling financially. Very little spiritual discussion
occurred because the children were out of control. Pray for their
finances and walk with the Lord.
-
A client in her thirties spoke with Jen regarding her need for
formula and diapers. Her husband is unemployed and they were seeking
assistance for various needs. They discussed Seventh Day Adventist
beliefs.
-
Jane met with a young client who had just given birth to a son.
Client stated she is a believer and attends church regularly. They
discussed several scriptures out of Romans and Ephesians as well as what
repentance means. The Good Test DVD was shown, but upon return to
the counseling room, Jane noted the client and her sister were not
watching it, but reading a text message. Pray these young ladies
will be drawn to the Lord.
-
Jane and her husband, Gary, met with a young man who is a
former drug addict. The mother of his children died recently from
a drug overdose. He is seeking work and studying for his GED.
He had worked construction for several years before the company
dissolved. He indicated he'd heard the Gospel previously in rehab
and agreed to read materials sent home with him. We were able to
help him with formula and diapers. Pray he will begin attending a
bible-believing church and place his total trust in the Lord.
-
A client returned to the office for baby supplies. She had
begun reading some of the material sent home previously. While
Jane tried to counsel her, she repeatedly was reviewing her text
messages with little interest in the discussion. Pray for her salvation.
She plans to be married soon before her boyfriend leaves for the Navy.
-
Julia met with a grandmother who is caring for a two year
grandchild. Discussed several spiritual topics, but it appeared she
agreed with various things just to pacify Julia. Much immorality
in the family. Pray for salvation.
Please pray for Dell Lapps, one of our Client Advisors, as she begins
radiation treatments the end of the month for six weeks.
Also, pray for our annual fall fundraising banquet -- our 25th
anniversary! It is to be held at The Hill School at 6:30 pm on
Thurs., Oct. 15. Please plan to join us to listen to Eric Barger
with Take a Stand! Ministries. His message on the immorality of
our nation, lack of discernment, etc. will be quite challenging to all
of us. We are currently seeking sponsorships to underwrite the
cost of the banquet... please pray that many will step forward with
this kind of donation. Our guests come to the banquet for free
because of these sponsorships. All income from that evening goes
directly into the ministry of Genesis.
