Dear Friends,
Please try to remember to pray for a few
of our clients and the staff of Genesis:
- Client in her
mid-twenties and her boyfriend seen for material assistance. She is
living with him and is happy to be doing so. Anne met with both
who are struggling trying to work part-time jobs. They have a
toddler and newborn and needed diapers and clothing. Anne spoke
with them about marriage, but neither is interested. Client
stated she is a Christian but could not say who Jesus Christ is.
Both watched "the Good Test DVD". He seemed more open than she
was. Anne was able to share some personal stories of God's
faithfulness in her life. Please pray for salvation for both
these young people.
- Jen met with a male client in need of
diapers and other baby supplies. He has been here previously and
is raising two children alone. He has been unemployed for about
a year and is struggling. The mother of the children left him
with the children, and he has two other children with another woman.
He is now a believer and was in much need of encouragement.
- A former client came in the thrift store today and shared some
family issues with me. She is the mother of six children and is
married. They are struggling financially since she is not
working. Her sister is expecting a child early next year which
has been diagnosed with a brain issue of some sort. She had been
advised, but was determined to carry to term. Please pray for
this mother of four other children -- that God will miraculously heal
this unborn baby or give them the grace to cope with what possibly
lies ahead. The Dr.'s have indicated the child would not live
more than six months at the most. In the meantime, this woman's
teen daughter is also pregnant. Please pray for this family for all
these issues. I am not aware they are saved, but they are very
prolife. This client that had stopped by the store did indicate
that God gives and takes lives and that her sister is praying.
Pray for another opportunity to speak with this client about the
Lord. She had to leave to attend to her children.
- Praise God
that Dell, our Client Advisor, successfully completed radiation
treatments and is doing fine!
- Also, praise God for the former
Planned Parenthood clinic director in TX that saw an abortion being
performed on a DVD and has decided she needs to leave her pro-death
employer! She has now gone to the prolife side. Pray for
her salvation as well.
- Dell met with a client in her late
twenties who needed some assistance prior to the birth of her baby.
She stated she is going to heaven because "I like to help people."
Client had concerns about premature labor and needed some things to
bring the baby home. She is due early in the new year. She
is living with her boyfriend who already has a child. She is
still married to someone else and the divorce has never been
finalized. States she works on Sun. so cannot go to church and
she just listened to the gospel with no response. Pray for her
heart to soften and to convict her of her sins.
- Another client
in her early twenties met with Dell. She just had a new baby and
attends a bible believing church. Her husband had left her and
now has a child with another woman. Please pray for this young
client who has been so deeply hurt. She often works on Sunday's
so cannot attend church, but please pray she will at least attend a
midweek meeting or Bible study group. She is a believer.
- Dell met with another young lady that is in a shelter (Salvation
Army) with her boyfriend and toddler child. They are planning a
wedding in Dec. Dell advised them to abstain until
marriage. He is unemployed and looking for work. This
client was seen here previously late this summer and prayed to accept
Christ then. Please pray for both her and her boyfriend.
(Note: We have often noted in the past that this Christian
shelter allows residents to live together that are not married).
- Jane met with an unsaved client in her mid-twenties.
She has two children and is single. She had never heard the
gospel previously, but indicated a desire to have her sins forgiven.
Jane sent her home with some booklets and a Bible to begin reading so
that she understands what was discussed. She was also given some
baby items for her youngest. Please pray she will read the
materials and be convicted.
