November 27, 2003 Dear Praying Friends, We are praising the Lord for His care and protection this past year in our lives. We haven't spent much time in our home in Mansfield since we retired July 1, 2003. Today we spent time with our daughter Cindy and her extended family for a very good turkey dinner and great fellowship. Tomorrow we travel by car all the way across the States to California and then up to Spokane, WA to be with Ruth's Mom for the winter months. We will be traveling to West Chicago, Iowa City, Henderson NE., and then staying in motels the rest of the way to San Francisco. We plan to attend the wedding of Helen Broach & Wally Swanson, Dec. 6th. Our daughter and family will also be at the wedding with many other friends from Quito and from all over the world. We plan to spend until Dec. 21st with our daughter Melody and family in Twain Harte, CA and enjoy the Christmas programs at their church and the grand-children's programs. After that we will journey up to Spokane WA and spend the time with Mom until the first part of Feb. 2004. Coming home we will come the Southern route to avoid the snow and seeing friends and family along the way. Please don't send Christmas cards this year, but just e-mail greetings! Let's save money for the poor and for missions. Mom is doing well since she had a pace-maker put in last month. Her strength is coming back and her pulse and blood pressure are normal again, for which we thank the Lord! Continue praying for our replacements, Dan and Cyndi Maloy and family as they have set January 6th, 2004 as their departure date for Quito. They are needed badly on the field. Pray for them as they start language study, enroll their children at the Alliance Academy, and settle into a new culture. We feel they will be used greatly in the ministry in Quito. We are looking forward to seeing many of you in the next three months! May the Lord give you a great time with family this Thanksgiving season and may you give praise to the Lord for all He has done for you! We also send warmest Christmas greetings to you and your dear families. You can always reach us on our cell phone #419-571-l867. Lovingly |
