Both of our jobs are in the leadership of these activities in 43
countries. In the next 12
months we would like to launch the Highway for all Nations concept so that
the SIM field and sending offices will be prepared to enable developing
world missionaries join SIM or be enabled to fulfill their calling with
other groups.
Howard Brant is Deputy International Director and reports to the SIM International Director. His portfolio includes geographic line responsibilities as well as outreach and church-mission relationships.
Howard is responsible for SIM’s East Africa ministries and church-mission relationships. The countries include Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Sudan and Kenya.
Howard is responsible for SIM’s Asian sending offices in Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Singapore. Our goals in each of these locations differ according to the context but the Singapore office has needed the most help, and Howie has spent weeks with them on strengthening their base.
Howard is responsible for the bi-annual fellowship of all national church leaders called Evangel Fellowship.
Jo-Ann has been cast on the Lord so many times this year as she directs the Advisory Services Group. Three responsibilities have pushed her far out of her comfort zone: the 32 on-going Bible translations, our search for radio funding and our video, DVD and print media initiatives. But God has done awesome things. Two translations are in the process of being published as I write. We came close to closing the radio program production of one language in Ethiopia, but the Lord provided funds and two new SIM videos and our DVD did come out this year.
