Valley Forge Baptist Church Missions

WOL Australia Masthead

Dear Prayer Partners

On June 30th, Lynda and I became proud grandparents! Lynda had the joy of being in Australia when Jess brought little Isabella Anne into this world. She was able to spend six weeks with Jeremiah, Jess and Isabella before she joined me at the WOL Family Campground. The ministry for me at the Family Camp Ground was a great blessing! I had the joyous opportunity to minister to many people and to serve under Jason Perkins, who is an native graduate of our Australian Bible College.

I began reading a book this summer by Jerry Bridges called Trusting God Even When Life Hurts. On page 15, he writes, “ ... It often seems more difficult to trust God than to obey Him.” This statement made me stop and think! I am still reading the book and trying to comprehend what it really means to trust God. Allow me to share some things for which we are trusting God:

  • Lynda's health as she faces another surgery

  • God will continue to work in the lives of Jeremiah and Jess

  • We will raise our needed support before we leave in November

  • The salvation of young Australians as the team ministers in churches, schools and evangelism events in the next few months

We want to express our deep gratitude to all of you who faithfully pray for and financially support us. We have enjoyed meeting with many of our friends and supporters. We will be traveling this fall and hope to see many of you before we return to Australia on the 28th of November.

Trusting God with Lynda's Health: While Lynda was in Australia, she learned that she would have to face another surgery in January to repair another large parastomal hernia. Her doctor has given her three options and we have been praying about the best option to choose. Although healthcare in Australia is excellent, Lynda wanted to follow the suggestion of many friends to seek a second opinion in the USA. After much research, we have made an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio for 6 October. We both know that unless God chooses to heal, she will have the colostomy and pelvic floor pain the rest of her life. Pray that the doctors will be able to give us sound advice. We praise the Lord for a large gift which will help cover the cost. Space does not allow us to share all the details that God orchestrated for Lynda to get the appointment at the Cleveland Clinic; we are very grateful for His goodness to us!

The Dugans New Granddaughter - Isabella, with her mother, father and LyndaTrusting God With Our Family: Jess and Jeremiah are adjusting well to being parents and they have recently moved to Muswellbrook. Muswellbrook will be about 2 1/2 hours away from us, but it is closer to the coal mine where Jeremiah works. We praise the Lord for our close relationship with them; we are looking forward to being back in Australia in order to be “hands on” grandparents.
Pray that Jess would come to know the Lord, that Jeremiah would come back to Him and that they will continue to be good parents. Pray for Isabella as she grows.

Trusting God for our Monthly Support: We have been very blessed by the Lord to be able to involve many wonderful people to support the Lord's work in Australia. Recently we have been able to add some more people to our team. At this point, we still need $1000.00 a month more support. We will be returning to Australia on 28th of November and we are trusting the Lord to bring in our support. We would ask you to pray for us as we endeavor to raise the support we need.

We will be traveling this fall to visit supporters and to seek to raise more support.

Trusting God for the Work in Australia: We work with a great team in Australia and they are looking forward to our return. Pray for them: Dan and Bonnie Keegan, our director, and Martin and Silvia Garcia, LCM Manager. Pray also for Santiago and Jackie Olortegui and Jimm and Pynqi Gorgonia as they raise support to join our team.

In the next few months Dan and Martin will be preaching the gospel in four public high schools and one primary (years 1-6) school. On 25 September they will be holding a Missions Night; the purpose is to get Australian young people to see those around them and across the seas as lost and needing the Lord. A Sports Marathon will be held on 21 November with the purpose of preaching the gospel.
Pray that we will see young people come to know Christ and then to grow in their faith. We long to return to Australia to work with our team; pray that we will raise our needed support quickly.
