01/16/03 Dear Ones at VFBC, We're trying to learn the computer, but we have a long way to go. Hence the snail mail. Thank you for your gifts and prayers. They mean so much to us! Lois saw the doctor again on the 14th. He had to remove a staple from her head which was inadvertently left in from the surgery. The control of her left side tremor is good, but the doctor says the right side could be better with another surgery. She wants to wait a while before going through the procedure again. We'd appreciate your prayers for God's leading in this decision. Thank you again for your support. May you be very conscious of the Lord's presence and direction throughout this year. In Christ’s Love,
A BLESSED NEW YEAR TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS We had good intentions to get this out before the holidays but as you can see, we didn't. Let us take this moment to wish you and yours the Lord's richest blessings in 2003. We never cease to marvel at His grace most of all in sending our Savior and including us in His family. We have had an interesting year adjusting to our new home here in Newberg and dealing with some health issues. Jim continues to do fairly well on his Parkinson's medications and enjoys a once montly Parkinson's support group meeting at our church. The folks at church have made us feel right at home. We belong to the "XYZ'ers" (senior group). We have a weekly Bible study and once a month some kind of outing. We also do some service projects. Lois had three operations for her inherited Familial Tremor. It had gotten so bad that she could barely sign her name. Now, after three surgeries a thalamotomy controls the right hand and the Medtronic implant controls the left hand. She is doing much better and can even use the computer given to us by our oldenst son Jimmy and his wife LIlly. Our e-mail address is: pinneoj@juno.com If you want to send us your e-mail address, please do. A large family reunion at our daughter Karen's home made Christmas especially delightful. Even our grandson Brian, now serving on Logos II, was able to fly up from their port in Mexico to join us. His Mom, Marilyn (cancer now in remission) flew here from Kentucky with hubby Doug, son Kevin and his fiancee, Janelle. Ken drove down from Alaska with his daughter Sara and his other daughter, Danielle, flew up from Texas. Jim and Lilly's daughter, Jennifer and her family joined the fun. Vincent, their son came over from Phoenix. So for the big meal there were 28 and 21 stayed over night. Karen delights in using her gift os hospitality and the lovely home God has given her and her husband Brent. Their two little girls, Megan and Alexis were on overdrive the whole time. Our country and our President need much prayer as we move into the new year. Oh that we as a nation would turn to the Lord and seek His will and His way! We will close the way we started this letter, praying for a blessed New Year for all of you. In Christ's love, Jim and Lois Pinneo |
