Dear Friends at VFBC: Many thanks for all of your goodies, I appreciate your efforts and the attached letter tells how much it meant to the men at Southern.
Fondly, Dear Cookie Makers: I am writing this letter on behalf of the men at Southern State Correctional Facility, Compound B, who were blessed by your combined effort in making the delicious Christmas cookies. While we have learned to appreciate this beautiful time of year for it’s true value, in prison a lot of us do not get to take part in the meaningful celebrations that were once a common part of our lives. Not everyone has family and friends to help ease the sadness that inevitably comes by our being separated from society. This Christmas the members of your church, as well as private donors, gave us a special treat. Not only are we extremely thankful, but very happy to know that we have brothers and sisters in Christ who care enough to give good things in a not-so-good place. This Christmas we experienced and shared in your love and concern for us as members of the body of Christ. Mrs. Farrow arranged for us to watch Christian videos. Hearts were touched and beautiful thoughts engraved into our memories as we reflected on your kindness and enjoyed the gifts made by your hands. Please know that the men of Mrs. Farrow’s class thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We pray that you will enjoy the beautiful Christmas season. Your efforts are gratefully appreciated. May God bless each and every one of you. Your brothers in Christ,
