Lynne has been a Christian
since 1974, serving
the Lord in a full-time capacity since 1978. In 1981 she founded Wings
of Eagles Ministries, Inc to serve prisoners and their families in New
Jersey State Prisons. She is a former businesswoman and used her resources
to begin her work. Her son Bill, recently graduated from Philadelphia
College of Bible at that time, joined her in her business property, now dedicated to
housing addicts, alcoholics, and former prisoners.
The work has been through many
trials and hard times, not being the most popular missionary
work. However, it has been very successful in New Jersey prisons,
always working through the Office of the Chaplain, and enjoys a solid
reputation counseling/teaching with measurable results.
Later, Bill took a pastorate in
Pa., and Lynne moved to Essex County in North Jersey to work with former
prisoners they had ministered to. Aftercare has always been a concern of
Chaplains and Lynne developed a means of aiding newly released men
economically. She worked with wives as well as the men.
In 1997 she returned to South Jersey and the Southern Prison Complex and picked
up her in-prison work again, working as a Chaplain's Assistant. She had
been very impressed of the Lord, over the years in North Jersey with how
critical a good, Biblical foundation was in the lives of inmates. What they "cut
their teeth on" as new believers was crucial to their growth and development
as godly men. She brought that conviction back to the prison setting and
made it a strong point to instill proper doctrine and Biblical understanding. She has a regular group of released men and their wives that she spends time with
one-on-one, to encourage and instruct as needed, as they adapt to life outside of prison.
Also in 1997, she began to teach women's Bible studies at Malaga Camp,
and, found the "difference" challenging. Teaching/counseling prisoners is
quite, different from teaching churched women, but some of the same
problems, exist and in many cases the solution is the same. It is a new challenge and one Lynne finds
exciting.
Lynne is a widow, has a daughter in addition to son Bill, both are happily married. Daughter Linda has three children that enjoy spending as
much, time as possible with Nana at Malaga Camp where Lynne is a year round resident.
