It
is short-sighted, in the extreme, to proclaim that sickness has no place
in the Christian life. This is true for several reasons.
-
Foremost
- it ignores the example of Scripture.
-
It
ignores the teaching of Scripture.
-
It place
man & his benefit at
the center of what God considers the highest good.
-
It makes
man the determiner or interpreter of what is good.
-
It makes
man the determiner or interpreter of what can & cannot serve God's
purposes.
-
It makes
"now" most important at the expense of later.
-
It
promotes pride & self-centeredness at the expense of humility.
- It
leaves little place for suffering.
