God's Careful & Balanced Creation
Genesis 1:6
I've always been struck by the incredible detail and balance with which the natural world was created. The delicate and intricate interactions of all of the various aspects of the natural world are fascinating to behold and a marvelous declaration of the wisdom and intelligence of our Creator God.
Take, for instance, the mechanism of our solar system. I am told that a scant few percentage of miles one way or the other for the orbit of the earth and the earth would not be able to sustain life as we know it. If the moon was much closer or much further away, it would negatively affect the balance of life by driving the tides further out, or up over the shore lands. There are thousand of asteroids and comets, and other heavenly bodies storming around the solar system and yet, miraculously, all stay in their assigned paths and mercifully pass us by. Even the other planets remain faithful to their allotted orbits for if they did not, the gravitational forces would alter the entire system, and the earth would much differently made up that it is. If our sun was much hotter, or much cooler, life would be impossible here.
Think of the wondrous cycle of rain, evaporation and rain again. The seasons and the changing of the winds and the tracks of the storms. The environmentalists are right about some things. The system is indeed fragile. However, what they forget is that God designed it and the power of Christ upholds it! The system is in perfect balance, indeed it must be so else the planet quickly become unable to sustain life.
Think of how wondrously the various animals were prepared for their habitats. What a vast array of animal, bird, insect, reptile, mammal, and other life in this world of ours. All intricately made and all delicately held in their place by the natural laws of God. Imagine the wisdom that set the patterns and the instincts of the salmon in place.
Think of our own incredible design. so intricate and so delightfully functional that we are unequalled in all of creation. It is impossible that such beings, such a world as this would have come to pass by mere chance! What a laughably simplistic idea to think that the proper elements came together by chance meeting billions of years ago and, then, all these eons later, we stand here as the crown of so-called "evolution". It couldn't have happened by chance, only an intelligent Creator could have created such an intricate and complicated creation!
