| Passage To
Study:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. [4] In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. What are the facts of the passage?:
What do those facts mean?: How wonderful and how mysterious! The Word was God and created everything that exists! No wonder everyone must come to Him for salvation. If He is both God and Creator then there is no question that we need to submit ourselves to Him. It is also interesting that the Word (The Light) shines on all men and that men don't understand it. How do those facts apply to my life?: I need to ask some questions about this. Do I really believe that Jesus Christ was God? Do I really believe He was the Creator of everything? Has He been a Light to Me? Have I really been seeking to comprehend Him? What should I do in response?: I should be responding to Christ as the Word and as God. It should make a difference to my life Who He is. I need to think about how I should live differently because of Who Christ is and what He has done. |
