  • The justice of God, strictly speaki.bt payment from his own son, Jesus Christ.

1.  God himself is the unimpeachable judge of all creation.

  • 1 Chronicles 16:14 He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

  • Job 21:22 Can anyone teach knowledge to God, since he judges even the highest?

  • Job 37:23 The Almighty is beyond our reach an exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.

  • Psalm 7:11 God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day.

  • Psalm .45:6 your throne, O God, will last forever and ever; a scepter of Justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

  • Psalm 89:14 righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.

  • James 4:12 there is only one lawgiver and judge, the one who is able to save and destroy.

2.  The judgments of God are perfect, and consistent with all of his other perfections.

  • Genesis 18:25 Far be it from you to do such a thing -- to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike.  Far be it from you! Will not the judge of all the earth do right?

  • Nehemiah 9:13 You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven.  You gave them regulations and Laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good.

  • Nehemiah 9:33 In all that has happened to us you have been just; you have acted faithfully, while we did wrong.

  • Job 8:3 Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right?

  • Job 9:19 If it is a matter of strength, he is mighty! And if it is a matter of justice, who will summon him?

  • Job 34:12 It is unthinkable that God would do wrong, that the Almighty would pervert justice.

  • Romans 2:2, 5-6 Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth...But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.  God "Will give to each person according to what he has done".

  • Romans 3:4 Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar.  As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."

  • Romans 9:13-15 J:ust as it is written: "Jacob I love, but Esau I hated".  What then shall we say?  Is God just? Not all! 40 says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion".

  • Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

3.  God dispenses justice to both the wicked and the righteous without partiality.

  • Exodus 6:6 Therefore, say to the Israelites: "I am the lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.  I will rescue you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment".

  • Deuteronomy 32:40-41 I lift my hand to heaven and declare: as surely as I live forever, when I sharpen my flashing sword in my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me.

  • 1 Samuel 2:9-10 He will guard the feet of his saints, but the wicked will be silenced in darkness.  It is not by strength that one prevails; those who oppose the Lord will be shattered.  He will thunder against them from heaven; the Lord will judge the ends of the earth.  He will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed.

  • Psalm 1:5.  Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners and the assembly of the righteous.

  • Psalm 5:5.  The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all to do wrong.

  • Psalm 9:8.  He will judge the world in righteousness; he will govern the peoples with justice.

  • Psalm 45:6.  Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever; the scepter of Justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

  • Psalm 75:6-7.  No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt a man.  But it is God who judges: he brings one down, he exalts another.

  • Psalm 140:12.  I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.

  • Isaiah 33:22.  For the Lord is our judge, the lord is our lawgiver, the lord is our King; it is he will save us.

  • Luke 18:7.  And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?

  • Romans 1:20-25.  For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities -- his eternal power in divine nature -- have been clearly seen, being understood from what is made, so that the man are without excuse.  For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.  Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.  Therefore, God gave them over to the sinful desires of their hearts; to sexual and purity; for the degrading of their bodies with one another.  They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the creator -- who is forever praised.  Amen.

  • Galatians 2:6.  As for those who seem to be important--whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not judged by an external appearance--those man added nothing to my message.

  • Jude 1:14-15.  Enoch,  the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men:"See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his Holy wants to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly centers have spoken against him".

  • Revelation 6:10.  They called out a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?"

  • Revelation 20:12-13.  And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened.  Another book was opened, which is the Book of life.  The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.  The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.

4.  Things done in secret will not escape God's judgment.

  • Ecclesiastes 12:14.  For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden things, whether it is good or evil.

  • Matthew 12:36.  But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.

  • Romans 2:12, 16.  All who sin apart from all law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.  This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

  • 1 Corinthians 4:5.  Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes.  He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts.  At that time each will receive his praise from God.

5.  Human justice, to be acceptable in God's sight, must be patterned after His own justice.

  • Leviticus 19:15.  Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor in favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.

  • Deuteronomy 1:17.  Do not show partiality in judging; here both small and great delight.  Do not be afraid of any man, for judgment belongs to God.  Bring me any case too hard for you, and I will hear it.

  • Deuteronomy 16:20.  Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you.

  • Deuteronomy 27:19.  Cursed is the man who withholds justice from the alien, the fatherless or the widow.  Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"

  • Proverbs 21:3.  To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

  • Zechariah 7:9.  This is what the Lord Almighty. I  says: "Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another".

  • Luke 6:37.  Do not judge, and you will not be judged.  Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.  Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

  • Romans 14:10.  You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat.

6.  The final judgment of all things has been committed by the Father to his Son.

  • Isaiah 42:1, 3-4.  Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one who might delight; I will put my spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations.  A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering which he will not snuff out.  In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till the establishes justice on earth.  In his locked the islands will put their hope.

  • Isaiah 53:11.  After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.

  • Matthew 12:18, 20.  Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my spirit on him and he will proclaim justice to the nations.  A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wicked he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory.

  • John 5:22-23, 27, 30.  Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the sun, that all my honor the sun just as they honor the father.  He does not honor the Son does not honor the father, who sent him.  And he has given him authority to judge because he is the son of man.  By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, I  Seek God to please myself but him who sent me.

  • John 8:16.  But if I do judge, my decisions are right, because I am not alone.  I stand with the father, who sent me.

  • John 8:50.  I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.

  • John 12:48.  There is a judge it for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.

  • Acts 10:42.  He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and dead.

  • Acts 17:31.  40 has set a day when he would judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed.  He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:10.  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done well in the body, whether good or bad.
